Welcome Back and Happy New Year for 2012!

The new term began on Tuesday 3rd January and we encountered a particularly windy and blustery week. The FS2 children took full advantage of this by making their own ‘makeshift’ kites out of old carrier bags and flew them on the playground. You can see them having great fun in the picture gallery.

A huge thank you to everyone who kindly donated a present for under the Christmas tree at the end of term. The gifts were collected by the Charles Thompson Mission in Birkenhead, with children from across the school helping to load the gifts into their van.  The Mission were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the children with 192 gifts and presents being donated in total!

The spring term calendar and curriculum overview for each yearband will be sent home in the first two weeks of term, with dates also being updated on the website calendar. One of my new year’s resolutions is to update the home page on a more regular basis in 2012, we will see whether I can keep to this.

Important Meetings for Parents Coming Up

Year 2 – KS1 Assessment & Barnstondale   Wednesday 18th January at 6.15pm

Year 5 – Proposed changes to timing of 11+ tests Wednesday 18th January at 7.30pm
