Welcome to St Peter's CofE Primary School

As Headteacher, it gives me great pleasure to welcome you to St. Peter’s Church of England Primary School. The aim of the site is to give all our visitors a real sense of our school.

“You are Peter and upon this rock I shall build my church.” (Matthew 16:18)

St. Peter’s is a very happy school with enthusiastic children and a thoroughly professional and dedicated team of staff. Our community of children, staff, parents and governors value the importance of a caring community that enables achievement for all. We believe in fostering a lifelong love of learning for everyone and seek to instil in the children of our school, an understanding of themselves as learners. We believe that this self-awareness will best equip them for their future. We aim to encourage and inspire lifelong learning and help everyone to learn how to learn.

Our motto, ‘Firm Foundations, Shining Bright’, resonates throughout school and in our partnership with our families and wider community. We aim to provide our children with firm foundations, building upon the rock of Jesus. Our Christian values of Pride, Effort, Teamwork, Empathy, Respect and Spiritualty are at the forefront of our teaching and permeate throughout school life. We feel that these core values underpin our Christian distinctiveness and that by living these values, we will be equipping our children with the skills, knowledge and understanding to make positive contributions to our local community, make judgements that reflect the rights of all and show courageous advocacy for causes on a local, national and international stage. These values are inspired by the teachings of Jesus, who said “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)

We take pride in the relationships we build with the families of St. Peter’s. We aim to encourage strong relationships with our parents as we recognise the importance of their roles as co-educators. This partnership with parents and the wider community enables us to offer many opportunities for the development of the whole child, developing personally and academically, whilst encouraging a lifestyle which is based on Christian values and teaching.

If you would like to find out more information about our school or come and have a look around, please contact the school office to arrange a visit.

I look forward to meeting you and your family and would like to thank you for your continued commitment and support towards the children and staff of this school.
