The Writing Curriculum from Year 1 to Year 6 requires pupils to apply understanding of their learning in Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar as well as developing skills in composition and effect, investigating a range of different text types.

Teachers will use a range of engaging stimuli to inspire writing including experience days, visits / trips, creative arts activities, real-life experiences or key texts.

Texts covered will vary from year to year depending on the needs of an individual cohort and in order to relate to current events (e.g. Sporting Events, Film / Book Releases etc.) or taking into account pupils’ interests.
